Graphic Designer (6 month FTC)
Looking to join a continuously growing and evolving brand? Homewares junkie? Read on....
At Loaf, the mission is simple: make home the comfiest place in the world.
This role is for a talented designer who’ll play a key part in shaping and delivering the brand’s creative across every touchpoint. You’ll help develop concepts for campaigns, and design for digital channels and Shacks so everything feels aspirational, elegant and distinctly “Loaf”.
If you’ve spent 5+ years in a design role (in-house or agency), are obsessed with interiors and how people really live at home, and enjoy a fast-moving creative environment, you’ll fit right in. Bring your creativity, can-do attitude and love of good design, and you’ll get a chance to help make everyday life feel a bit more comfortable.
The Job
This is a six month, fixed term contract.
Oversee the creative design process of design briefs across both print and digital, seeing projects through from concept and design to art working, production and delivery.
Design for a wide range of channels including email, homepage and landing pages, social, in-store graphics, window displays and printed collateral (and more, as needed).
Work into the Senior Designer, collaborating with stakeholders across the business to keep projects on track and make sure the creative genuinely answers the brief.
Present design work at key stages to stakeholders for feedback, refinement and final sign-off.
Help evolve and refine brand guidelines so they stay consistent but never feel stale. Act as a visual brand guardian, making sure everything that goes out is tasteful, effective and recognisably Loaf.
Work closely with copywriters, digital, marketing, CRM and Shack teams to bring campaigns and projects to life in a joined-up way.
Champion design and creativity across the business, keeping an eye on trends, references and inspiration that feel right for Loaf.
We're looking for
5+ years’ design experience (agency or in-house), ideally with time spent at a luxury retail or lifestyle brand.
A portfolio that shows strong work across branding, typography, print and digital – with clear thinking as well as good-looking outcomes.
Confidence working in Figma for digital design and collaboration, plus Adobe Creative Suite. Especially Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator - for asset creation and artworking.
A lateral mind that can find original angles and fresh routes, rather than reaching for the obvious answer every time.
A solid understanding of design principles and the emotional intelligence to create campaigns that feel human, relatable and genuinely connect with people.
A real interest in interiors and how people actually live, nest and unwind at home.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain your thinking and bring others with you.
A collaborative, low-ego approach: you’re happy to take feedback, build on ideas and learn quickly.
Serious attention to detail, understanding that the small things add up to a big difference.
Nice to have (but not a deal breaker):
Comfortably working in After Effects for motion design (for social, simple animations or micro-interactions).
Experience designing for ecommerce or direct-to-consumer brands.
Awareness of accessibility best practice in digital design.
Some of our benefits:
Hybrid working (3 days a week in the London office and 2 days working from home)
25 days holiday, increasing by 1 day each year for 3 years, plus 8 days for bank holidays
Staff and friends and family discount scheme
Healthcare cash plan
EAP programme
Shopping discounts
Cycle to work scheme
Life Assurance - 4 times annual salary
